I'm hoping to host a faculty workshop at the beginning of next quarter and am looking for some ideas on this. I've never given a faculty workshop, and for some reason I find it a little unnerving. I would love some advice on this and also to hear what has been done successfully in the past. Also, how long does the typical faculty workshop run? Thanks!

I've given faculty workshops on Fridays. Usually a workshop runs for an hour. The favorite one was a hands-on session using the databases. I've also given one about creating info lit assignments other than research papers.
Thanks for bringing up this topic. I would love to hold a workshop for our Mentor Center Coordinator and the tutors. Has anyone ever done that before?
Thanks, Chandra, for your advice and the e-mail you sent with what you've done in the past. I think my first faculty workshop will be held sometime at the beginning of the quarter, and we'll basically take about 45 minutes to an hour to try out and review the new databases. It seems like a good interactive/instructional professional development session to begin with. I'm so nervous!
