I don't know if I'm more excited that Google has an up and coming challenger or that the person creating it was the one who first started Google (and is a woman in IT! So cool!!!!)

The Trap of Knowing

Have you tried it out? I did some test searches yesterday and I really wasn't impressed with the actual results. The layout was pretty but I did just as well (if not better) with a Google search. Additionally, it doesn't have advanced limiting features (I know, it's new).
They weren't really prepared for the number of users, either, because it crashed midday yesterday.
I tried to search for 'cuil' and it came back with everything but it's own page.;-) Longer search terms came back with nothing but I don't know if it was because of the heavy use or not. Not impressed so far.
I'm not a huge fan of the layout, and I also think it would just confuse our students. The discussion we have w/ them in regards to citing the actual website's page as opposed to citing the search engine's page would become even more difficult. I think some lazy students would even be inclined to just use the "abstract" or summary that's available for each website. Eek!
