Median pay of $51,000? They must not have surveyed any librarians in North Dakota. I also wonder if that median pay takes into account school librarians.

The median pay for all the jobs listed does seem high. $82,000 for a Proffessor, etc.

Median pay of $50,000 for sure, but only if you have 2 masters (1 in LIS and another one of another subject) or PhD. Sure aren't talking about public librarians unless its at a higher level of administration.

I blogged about this a while ago on my personal blog. I don't agree with most of the content of this article. I think that the author is specifically talking about special librarians, but even that is a stretch. The article sets forth unrealistic expectations for librarians seeking employment opportunities.

I think this is a caution tale against reading too much into salary calculators, etc. Data is easily skewed. When it comes to salary, figure out what you can live with, figure out what you think you are worth, and then negotiate in between.
