Meebo @ your library

If we decide to do chat reference, here is a posting from Stephen's Lighthouse that is interesting. The Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library also has Meebo loading as soon as you connect to the homepage. One of the articles I included in my annotated bibliography on Virtual Reference talked about having the popular IM systems loaded onto the library computers with the librarian already programmed into the buddy list

You're too fast for me, Cynthia.

I was going to include this little tidbit in a post about Meebo I'll do soon. I love David's blog.

Since you brought it up, I'll let everyone know that I have created a Rasmussen College Library Meebo account as well accounts for AIM, Yahoo, MSN and GoogleTalk. The AIM, Yahoo, MSN and GoogleTalk accounts are hooked up to the Meebo account so once you sign in under our username (RasColLib--RCLS was already taken) you will be signed into the other services. We can add more services if we think students prefer another chat software, but those four seem to be the main options.

Great idea - I currently use Meebo (mark.krupinski@rasmussen.edu) on the majority of pages I run.

It works great and is seamless for both parties.

I love it.
